I know this has been a long wait. It’s almost over!

Last week I clicked through the copyeditor’s changes again, I double-checked to make sure those last sentence tweaks looked okay, and then I sent the final, complete draft of How to Talk to a Goddess and Other Lessons in Real Magic off to the folks at Recorded Books.

I’ve been walking on air ever since. I can’t tell you how good it feels to know that this novel is on its way to you, ready to start its real life.

And it’s so exciting to be working again with Recorded Books, which did such a fantastic job with the audiobook edition of The Thinking Woman’s Guide to Real Magic. I can’t wait to listen to How to Talk to a Goddess! Production is getting underway now—this week I spent some time on the phone with a Recorded Books researcher, going over the pronunciation of various names and Ors words (Aruendiel! Sisoaneer! Hirizjahkinis!). I also had a chance to preview the cover design (which is gorgeous!). Our plan is to bring How to Talk to a Goddess to you in winter/spring 2021.

And finally, I am really, really happy to (finally!) be able to share this news with you. Thanks so much to all of you who have been checking in to ask about the progress of the novel. You’ve encouraged and inspired me and helped this book get out into the world, and I couldn’t be more grateful for it.
